A memorandum of understanding (MoU) exchange ceremony between UTAR and SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai (SRM IST), India was held via Zoom on 22 February 2022. 

 

The MoU was pre-signed by UTAR President Ir Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat and SRM IST Vice Chancellor Dr C. Muthamizhchelvan; the witnesses were UTAR former Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Yow Ho Kwang and SRM IST Registrar Dr S. Ponnusamy.

Aimed at promoting education and understanding of scientific knowledge, technological advancement and skills among the students, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between UTAR and Technological Association Malaysia (TAM) at Kampar Campus on 18 February 2022.

 

Signing on behalf of the two parties were UTAR President Ir Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat and TAM President Ts Ir Yam Teong Sian, while UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min and Perak Branch Chairman of TAM Ts Dr Khoo Boo Kean were the witnesses for the respective parties.

The MoU was pre-signed by UTAR President Ir Prof Dr Ewe Hong Tat and UMS President Dr Triseu Setianingsih. The witnesses were UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min and UMS Vice Rector of Student Achievement Yana Setiawan.

Hundred fifty two students were awarded UTAR scholarships at the UTAR Scholarship Presentation e-Ceremony for January 2022 intake on 26 February 2022. The e-ceremony was hosted on Microsoft Teams. The scholarship recipients were students from the January 2022 intake, enrolled in UTAR Foundation and undergraduate programmes.

Bachelor of Corporate Communication student Ng Wen Jeng from the Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI) won awards in several competitions, namely the “Kicap Bentong Soy Sauce Poster Competition” and “Celebrating Difference: 3-Min Video Competition”.

 

The Kicap Bentong Soy Sauce Poster Competition was organised by UTAR Department of Soft Skills Competency of Sungai Long Campus and Kicap Bentong Sdn Bhd. Ng emerged as the winner of the poster competition and walked away with a cash prize of RM250 and a hamper worth RM50.
